"With respect to thoughts of pride, we can compare them to flies in the summertime. These thoughts are annoying to us, but with the grace of God, they do not overcome us. Rather such thoughts evoke in us the opposite acts of humility and the more we multiply acts of humility, we develop a habit of doing good." (# 1740)
